Ulster County Road Safety Assessments
The Ulster County Transportation Council (UCTC), under contract with VHB Engineering, is undertaking Road Safety Assessments (RSA) at locations in Ulster County.
The purpose of the RSAs are to provide a formal safety performance examination of transportation facilities and identify solutions that could improve safety. Safety Assessments have been proven effective in practice and can lower crash rates, reduce injuries, and save lives.
UCTC has undertaken an approach that closely follows the NYSAMPO Safety Assessment Guidlines.
